The K-9 Handler I position is one that involves the use of a trained police dog.  The Handler I and the dog shall work as a team and will be used to support investigations in searches and hazardous situations.  The K-9 Handler I position is first an intricate part of the investigations team at Guarded Exchange.  The K-9 Handler I must stay informed on all new canine deployment and training techniques.  He/she must be aware of any legislation or laws affecting the canine concept and be able to give informative information to the administration on the impact of that law or legislation.  The K-9 Handler I must be willing to have the police dog live with his family and have suitable living space for it.  The K-9 Handler I is responsible for any reports and evaluations arising out of the canine assignment.  The K-9 Handler I position is an assignment and works for and in these position at the pleasure of the Departments of Corrections contracted with Guarded Exchange.
