  • Overview

    Job Purpose:

    Leads a team of analysts to support the SDLC process from beginning to end. Ensures that Security remains at the forefront of concern on all new products, applications, websites and system deployments. The team ensures that all corporate software products and websites adhere to secure coding principals. Assist software development teams by regularly testing for vulnerabilities and working with the QA team to ensure proper security testing is included in the quality assurance process.


    Essential Duties:

    • Supervise the Cybersecurity Lifecycle Operations team and all associated project deliverables to support critical Information Security Office controls and policies during the software development lifecycle.
    • Interface regularly with the Software development team to understand applications and products and be able to offer recommendations for Security enhancements.
    • Coordinate with Security Engineering team to ensure newly implemented software or websites are seamlessly incorporated into the existing security processes and procedures.
    • Assist Risk Manager with vulnerability management and risk assessment efforts in relation to the SDLC, software products and websites.
    • Participate and evaluate Change Management process for all application related changes within the environment to ensure they remain secure.
    • Supervise the App Security team; including associate evaluations, corrective action, and interviewing.
    • Establish clear objectives and milestones, drive team to meet deadlines
    • Leads the research, evaluation, and implementation of technical security controls
    • Acts as primary contract for security related anomalies and provides information security guidance as a subject matter expert
    • Manage project scope and conformance with compliance, system quality control, statement of work, documentation, implementation, and possible customer interfacing
    • Collaborate with management, engineers, and technicians to set project objectives, priorities, and deliverables.
    • Identify project road blocks and work with management and team members to resolve them

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Extensive familiarity with Secure Coding principals and the OWASP top 10.
    • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
    • Might be required to travel periodically within Continental North America.
    • Very strong communications skills and analytical aptitude with the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbal and in written form
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills – PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • The position requires a sense of urgency and ownership.
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
    • Outstanding documentation skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, and be detail oriented.
    • Must be able to “Drive” tasks to completion
    • Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree; Experience or advanced certifications (CISSP) will be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Experience with various standards (PCI/DSS, SOX, FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA etc.)
    • 8+ years’ experience in Information Technology.
    • Information Security certification that may include, but not be limited to CSSLP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, GSEC and CEH.
    • Experience with threat assessment, vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, information gathering, correlating and reporting

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree Information Security.
    • 8+ years’ experience in software development role.
    • 2 years’ prior experience in Information Security role.
    • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
    • CertifiedSecure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).
    • Experience working with software development teams and the SDLC.

    Physical Requirements:

    Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.  May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
