  • Overview

    Job Purpose:

     

    The primary purpose of this position is to conduct computer forensic investigations, data recovery and extraction of seized and recovered electronic media from Correctional facilities.  The successful candidate will work with the State DOC and Guarded Exchange Personnel.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    • Conduct forensic analysis and exams on seized recovered electronic media.
    • Produce and deliver all reports and return all media to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
    • Support the State DOC and Guarded Exchange Personnel by communicating the progress and any issues of all cases.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
    • Capability of effective planning and priority setting.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in computer forensics or other computer science with a specialization in digital forensics, supplemented by appropriate experience with a criminal justice agency, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Possession of professional certifications and membership in professional associations is highly desirable.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.  May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
