  • Overview

    Job Purpose:

     

    Responsible for managing projects related to Microsoft Dynamics GP software and other automated systems that are within or affect the Controller Department functions, such as doc-link, SAJE, Phoenixsoft and other systems.  Includes working with the user community for planning, training and implementing designated modules for the Dynamics GP solution.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    • Manage projects related to Microsoft Dynamics GP and doc-link; recommend new solutions to the VP, Corporate Controller that will help achieve the goals of the department and GP/doc-link stakeholders
    • Serve as team expert in designing and implementing available automated solutions to enhance process efficiencies, such as system downloads and SMARTLIST reporting
    • Act as liaison with IT Development and GP consultant for all GP activities:Coordinate with IT BSA to gather requirements for MS Dynamics GP applications
      • Coordinate with other MS Dynamics GP stakeholders
      • Ensure maintenance and patches are applied timely and coordinate such updates with the user community
      • Assists with troubleshooting related to user or system issues
    • Train the user community on available MS Dynamics and doc-link services
    • Manage projects associated with other system implementations, upgrades and enhancements that affect GP system processes and Controller department functions
    • Participate in Controller Department projects and Company initiatives; lead process analysis and improvement efforts related to department processes
    • Manage design and documentation of accounting processes and procedures affected by system changes
    • Manage or assist with other special projects as assigned by Supervisor

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of GAAP, especially related to revenue recognition
    • Demonstrated aptitude for understanding system processing and controls
    • Exposure to SOX process documentation and controls environment
    • Proven project management experience
    • Strong interpersonal and management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to achieve overall organization objectives
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Capable of working independently, but also a good team player
    • Must be proactive and results oriented with a focus on meeting department deadlines
    • Good time management skills and flexibility
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on department deadlines and Company initiatives
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other business-related degree with an emphasis in Accounting/IT
    • 5+ years accounting experience in a highly automated environment
    • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
    • 2-3 years of administration experience with doc-link or other document management system
    • SOX experience

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Accounting or other business-related degree with an emphasis in Accounting/IT
    • Telecommunications experience

     

    Physical Requirements:

    Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.
