  • Overview

    Job Purpose:


    Responsible for assembling small parts using basic hand tools and soldering irons. This role would suit somebody who has background in component or wire soldering. Follow ISO9000 work instructions to assemble and refurbish units.


    Essential Duties:

    • Assemble and solder small parts.
    • Cut and modify plastic parts.
    • Point to point wiring.
    • Solder Through-hole components and wires to PCBA.
    • Read and follow ISO9000 work instructions.
    • QA and test units to confirm work has been done according to work instructions.
    • Escalate issues to Team Lead or Supervisor.
    • Recommend process improvements.
    • Enter completed work into computer tracking system.
    • Run basic tests to confirm work has been done properly.
    • Program firmware into units using a computer.
    • Cut returned units open for refurbishment using rotary tool.
    • Glue units closed using 2-part methacrylate adhesive.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of soldering to an IPC class II standard
    • Ability to solder Through-hole components and wires
    • Ability to do basic task on a computer
    • Ability to read and understand ISO work instructions


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 1-2 years solder experience
    • 1-2 years mechanical assembly experience


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in SMT soldering
    • Experience with flashing firmware
    • Experience in QA
    • Knowledge of IPC610 standard



    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to Stand or sit for long periods. Ability to talking, listen and read effectively in English. Ability to grasp and use hand tools for long periods of time to cut plastic. Ability to use a computer and email. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
