The main responsibilities of the Social Media Specialist (SMS) is to manage JPay's social media presence across a variety of channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn as well as the company's blog and forum. The SMS is responsible for identifying articles of interest for social, managing Hootsuite for posts, working with the creative team for artwork deliverables, instituting and overseeing social media contests, responding to customer inquiries and more. Clearly, the SMS must be passionate about social media and have strong written communications skills.


  • Generate copy and Terms and Conditions for social campaigns
  • Assist with creation, conception and execution of social media tactics
  • Work with creative team (Art Director, Graphic Designer) to develop concepts and copy for social posts
  • Identify and evaluate industry articles and trends and assess their value and sharing potential on social media
  • Manage and help grow JPay's following on Facebook, Twitter and the Company blog and forum
  • Work with Human Resources to manage JPay's LinkedIn page
  • Monitor and address customer questions/concerns that are submitted through social channels
  • Work with Product and Development teams to monitor and address customer reviews and comments in the app stores (Apple and Google)
  • Manage the JPay Friends & Family Forum, including the relationship with the JPay Forum moderator
  • Be on the pulse of what's new in social media; ensure JPay maintains an innovative approach to social media and identify new platforms and opportunities
  • Create and maintain a communications calendar for social media
  • Prepare monthly reports displaying growth and areas of weakness,
    • Recommend ways to combat areas of weakness and further growth



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in a consumer-facing social media role
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of all social platforms
  • High attention to detail
  • Understanding of digital analytics platforms
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Use of social platforms in personal life
  • Strong interest in technology; knowledgeable about what's new
  • Creative, fun, highly motivated and energetic
  • Team player mentality
