The Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for compliance with all corporate taxes and mitigation of tax risk to the Company.  This position will prepare all tax provisions and manage federal, state, and local corporate tax compliance, including setting up and documenting processes and procedures, and will direct tax compliance from 3rd party firms related to sales/use tax, telecom tax, and property tax filings.  Additionally, this position will support M&A activities and implement tax saving strategies.


  • Prepare annual tax provisions and related footnote disclosures in accordance with ASC 740. Prepare estimated quarterly tax provisions, entries and reconciliations. Calculate and prepare federal, state and local estimated tax payments.
  • Manage external tax consultants for the tax compliance process, and coordinate preparation of workpapers in support of federal and state income tax returns, including tax asset and depreciation schedules. Respond to tax inquiries and notices.
  • Maintain knowledge of current tax laws and regulations and keep management informed of current legislation; evaluate tax consequences of various ideas and implement tax saving strategies.
  • Proactively analyze and make recommendations for processes to ensure compliance related to new or changing transactions. Research and evaluate sales tax requirements for new products in development.
  • Prepare/implement various tax projects, such as R&D tax credit documentation, transaction cost studies, M&A activities, opening balance sheet deferred tax calculations, and audits.
  • Reconcile transaction tax activity, support sales/use, telecom, gross receipts, and property tax compliance utilizing 3rd party tax consultants and prepare monthly tax payments. Evaluate external tax firms for quality of service and pricing.
  • Prepare regulatory reports, USF filings, unclaimed property filings and other filings as required; maintain state and local business licenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Strong technical knowledge of tax accounting principles and disclosure requirements
  • Working knowledge of federal and state income/franchise tax compliance, sales/use tax and telecom tax compliance
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent Excel and PC skills
  • General income and sales tax research skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification required
  • 6-10 years of corporate and income tax experience required, including 4+ years public accounting experience
  • Sales/use tax experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Tax

    • Big 4 accounting firm experience with an emphasis on the preparation of the income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740

    • Telecom/technology industry experience

    • Exposure to international taxation
