    JOB SUMMARY

     

    The Project Manager – Implementation position is responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of products to our Customers.

    You will have primary ownership of the coordination and completion of all activities required to complete assigned projects. These activities include, but are not limited to: customer communication; human resource coordination and scheduling; material requisition and shipping/delivery; telecom provisioning; quality management; and other essential project management duties. The Operations Support Project Manager will capitalize on project management experience, team working skills, and industry knowledge to lead successful and highly efficient projects.

    Responsibilities

    Principal Accountabilities or Duties

    Responsible for planning each project in order to accomplish its goals or produce the products required within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.

    • Maintaining the project budget.
    • Continuously monitor progress in terms of the status of the plan and the budget and report back to management via weekly or other progress reporting and by organizing and managing status meetings and regular communications
    • Anticipating and catch deviations from a plan and keep all participants and stakeholders informed.
    • Identifying, logging, analyzing and managing potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how more serious issues and risks might impact scope, schedule, quality and cost.
    • Identifying where and when management of issues and risks or accommodating altered requirements will involve extra time or extra resources and where efficiencies can be made.
    • Courteously and politely in writing and oral communication, and be able to get ideas across in a non-confrontational manner in one-to-one situations, small groups, and before large audiences.
    • Identify the need for resources, and should subsequently take on the management of daily tasks and project responsibilities in relation to the resources available to the project. The Operations Support PM/Coordinator will not be in a personnel management role, but will be responsible for managing the action items and deliverables for each project, and effectively communicating the progress and any potential personnel issues to the appropriate personnel managers.
    • Create and use Gantt charts, spreadsheets or other appropriate tools to manage time and tasks.
    • Bringing the project to a close, which will include creating an end of project report or evaluation document, holding ‘sunset’ meetings and activities, and capturing and using relevant lessons learned.
    • Understand the technology being used in order to understand and question requests coming from specialists /technical staff and to evaluate what is reasonable or possible.

    ·       Understanding of relevant methodologies, processes and standards and ensures that all project team members understand and follow these practices

    • Responsible for the project’s commitment to quality and may need to call on specialists to assist in creating or assessing quality standards.

    ·       Generate many types of documents, including requirement specifications, statements of work, schedules, project reports, communication (email) records, meeting agendas, minutes and status reports.

     

    Business Environment

    Work directly with Sales, Operations, Technical Support and Securus Customers to coordinate and execute the delivery of features, products, and inmate calling systems. The successful coordination of cross departmental activities is required to complete the Implementation project and is essential to a flawless product delivery and customer satisfaction.

     

    Maintain a get-it-done attitude while understanding the balance between budget, timeline, and quality

    Latitude or Decision-making

    Have understanding of the goals for each project as well as the abilities to make effective decisions along the course of each project. In many cases, the Project Manager will have full reign over the decisions to be made during the course of the project. However, there will be times when the Project Manager must call upon other resources in order to understand the options and how each decision could affect the outcome of the project. It is crucial that the Project Manager fully understand the delineation between decisions to be made alone as part of the project scope and decisions that require a committee review and agreement before moving forward.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Experience in Telecom industry and/or experience working with the delivery of CTI and/or VoIP products

    Minimum of 2 years proven experience in project management leading team members through a variety of project plans, both large and small

    Demonstrated leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills

    Demonstrated ability to effectively employ both short term and long term project planning skills

    Solid working knowledge of Power Point, Word, Excel, and Project

    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups

    Fundamental understanding of finance and accounting principles

     

    REQUIRED

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Minimum of 2 years proven experience in project management leading team members through a variety of project plans, both large and small

    Solid working knowledge of Power Point, Word, Excel, and Project

    Fundamental understanding of finance and accounting principles

    PREFERRED

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications (or capable of achieving certification within 1 year).

    Extensive academic/practical background with project management
