This position requires competency in basic computer operations, chain of custody procedures and all documentation. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain organization and standard processing procedure of seized and recovered electronic media from Correctional facilities.  The successful candidate will work with the State Department of Corrections and Guarded Exchange Personnel.

  • Receive and log all seized recovered electronic media.
  • Create proper documentation for all recovered electronic media.
  • Support the State Department of Corrections and Guarded Exchange personnel by communicating the status of inventory.






  • The ideal candidate will have an understanding of computers and; document management; internet; hardware and software troubleshooting; electronic mail systems, such as Exchange and Outlook; Microsoft Office applications.
  • The candidate must be able to properly document and record all received electronic media. Must be able to pass and maintain a background check administered by the State Department of Corrections.
  • Must possess the ability to articulate in written and oral communication. Must support the State Department of Corrections and Guarded Exchange Personnel. Fluency in a second language given preferential consideration.
  • An extensive interview will be conducted, and will cover a variety of topics, such as knowledge of computer systems, as well as evidence handling.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-placement drug screen.



  • A diploma or GED equivalent is required for this position. Education in criminal justice field preferred but not required.

  • Possession of professional certifications and membership in professional associations is highly desirable.
