JOB SUMMARY

 

The Sr. Project Manager position is responsible for the successful implementation of Electronic Health Records system projects to our Customers with scope and budget.

Based on standard procedures that are designed for continual process improvement and quality assurance for initial software implementations, including updates and enhancements. 

Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities or Duties

Responsible for planning each project in order to accomplish Statement of Work goals and objectives. 

  • Responsible for managing all new contract/implementation project deliverables, i.e, Milestones. 
  • Continuously monitor progress in terms of the status of the plan and the budget and report back to management via weekly or other progress reporting and by organizing and managing status meetings and regular communications.
  • Anticipating and catch deviations from a plan and keep all participants and stakeholders informed.
  • Identifying, logging, analyzing and managing potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how more serious issues and risks might impact scope, schedule, quality and cost.
  • Identifying where and when management of issues and risks or accommodating altered requirements will involve extra time or extra resources and where efficiencies can be made.
  • Courteously and politely in writing and oral communication, and be able to get ideas across in a non-confrontational manner in one-to-one situations, small groups, and before large audiences.
  • Identify the need for resources, and should subsequently take on the management of daily tasks and project responsibilities in relation to the resources available to the project. 
  • Create and use Gantt charts, spreadsheets or other appropriate tools to manage time and tasks.
  • Bringing the project to completion, which will include creating an end of project report or evaluation document, holding ‘sunset’ meetings and activities, and capturing and using relevant lessons learned.
  • Understand the software technology (Securus EHR) being used in order to understand and question requests coming from specialists /technical staff and to evaluate what is reasonable or possible.

·       Understanding of relevant methodologies, processes and standards and ensures that all project team members understand and follow guidelines established for project management (PMP processes).   

  • Responsible for the project’s commitment to quality and may need to call on additional resources to assist in accomplishing project objectives.

·       Generate many types of documents, including requirement specifications, statements of work, schedules, project status reports, communication (email) records, meeting agendas, minutes and status reports.

 

Business Environment

Work directly with Sales, Operations, Technical Support and Securus Customers to coordinate and execute the delivery of features and functions of Securus EHR software. The successful coordination of cross departmental activities is required to complete the Implementation project and is essential to a flawless product delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

Maintain a get-it-done attitude while understanding the balance between budget, timeline, and quality

Latitude or Decision-making

Have understanding of the goals for each project as well as the abilities to make effective decisions along the course of each project. In many cases, the Sr. Project Manager will have full reign over the decisions to be made during the course of the project. However, there will be times when the Sr. Project Manager must call upon other resources in order to understand the options and how each decision could affect the outcome of the project. It is crucial that the Sr. Project Manager fully understand the delineation between decisions to be made alone as part of the project scope and decisions that require a committee review and agreement before moving forward.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree, PMP Certification or equivalent experience

Experience in Healthcare industry and/or experience working with the delivery of Electronic Health Care systems.

Minimum of 5 years proven experience in project management leading team members through a variety of project plans, both large and small

Demonstrated leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills

Demonstrated ability to effectively employ both short term and long term project planning skills

Solid working knowledge of Power Point, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups

Fundamental understanding of finance and accounting principles

 

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years proven experience in project management leading team members through a variety of project plans, both large and small

Solid working knowledge of Power Point, Word, Excel, and Project

Fundamental understanding of medical terminology and protocols. 

PREFERRED

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications (or capable of achieving certification within 1 year).

Extensive academic/practical background with project management
