Overview

This is a junior-level, administrative, and specialized investigative work for a State agency. Validating intelligence provided by Communications Analysts until reasonable suspicion is obtained or the intelligence is discredited.  Working one on one with Guarded Exchange Senior Management and Department of Corrections Investigators providing acknowledged facts in a timely manner.

  • Validates “Suspicion” and “Reasonable Suspicion” from quantifiable knowledge escalated from Communication Analysts
  • Compiling and analyzing information regarding victims, and persons suspected of violating statutes, policies and/or procedures, or program requirements administered by the assigned agency.
  • Compiles and analyzes information related to suspected cases of or improper or unlawful activities including but not limited to; resulting in the diversion of controlled drugs, assault or any other bodily harm (physical or sexual), weapons location, cell phone location, escape, and Suicide.
  • Immediate notification to DOC and/or outside law enforcement to include but not limited to: eminent danger, child abuse, elderly Abuse, kidnapping, staff involvement with offenders, staff misconduct, and ANY staff sexual contact.
  • Collects, assembles, and preserves facts, and prepares detailed reports of investigative findings for State Investigators.
  • Utilizes database for entering, updating, and tracking investigations.
  • Exercises independence in performance of responsibilities; receives general administrative direction.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

Competencies

 

  • Ability to multitask.
  • Computer literate, specifically in Microsoft 2007.
  • Must type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Detail oriented with specific emphasis on listening skills.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a background check administered by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
  • Mandatory confidentiality relating to work performed.
  • Fluency in a second language given preferential consideration.
  • Ability to work in a secured team environment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-placement drug screen.

Education

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree in Criminal Justice or Psychology preferred.
  • Criminal Justice, or Law Enforcement background preferred.
